We've added USDC, USDT and USDT0 as payment options for eligible purchases on AfricaMetalsMinerals, giving buyers another way to settle metals and minerals orders across borders.
For us, this is a simple step toward making commodity purchasing easier.

01 — Why we did this
Finding the product was never the hard part
We work with buyers across Africa and international markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. One thing we've seen: finding the right commodity is only part of the transaction. Getting payment across borders can sometimes be the slower, more complicated part. So we decided to give buyers another option.
Another way to pay, not a replacement
Stablecoins now sit alongside our existing payment methods, not instead of them.

We're enabling the new payment infrastructure through our partnership with Centiiv, allowing eligible buyers to use stablecoins alongside our existing payment methods.

Stablecoins are becoming a practical cross-border tool
Stablecoins are becoming increasingly relevant to cross-border commerce, particularly in emerging markets. The IMF estimates that Nigeria received about $59 billion in crypto-asset inflows between July 2023 and June 2024, and accounted for roughly 60% of stablecoin inflows into Sub-Saharan Africa from late 2019 to early 2025. The IMF also reports that Nigerian businesses are increasingly using stablecoins to pay overseas suppliers.
