What Is a Test Report? And Why Does It Matter?

    "What exactly am I buying?"

TESTING · VERIFICATION · EVIDENCE OVER PROMISES

If you're buying metals or minerals, that's one of the first things you should want to know. That's where a test report comes in.

A test report is basically the technical evidence behind a product. It shows what was found when a sample of the material was tested , things like purity, chemical composition, metal content, impurities, or other characteristics relevant to that particular commodity.

So instead of simply saying "this is 99.9% copper," you have an analysis showing what the sample actually contains.

Commodities can look right and still be wrong

Two materials may both be called "copper," "aluminium scrap," or "chrome ore," but their composition can be very different. That difference can affect their value and whether they're suitable for a buyer's intended use.

A test report gives the buyer something measurable to work with.

    02 — Evidence, not a promise

So, can you trust an AMMC test report?

We think trust should come from the process, not just from asking you to trust us. At AMMC, testing forms part of our wider product verification process. Products are identified, classified, and tested according to the characteristics relevant to the commodity.

Something more useful than a promise

Test reports provide technical information about purity, composition, and grade — evidence, not a claim.

    04 — One important thing

    A test report isn't a magic guarantee

It tells you what was found in the sample tested. For larger or higher-value transactions, buyers may also require independent inspection or third-party verification.

    We're comfortable with that

Good commodity trading should make verification easier — not harder.

    The simple idea

We don't want you to buy a product simply because we say it's what we claim it is

We want the product to have evidence behind the claim. That's what a good test report is really about.
